SchoolTree released their new album, Rise, at the Lizard Lounge (on the Ides of March!) with support from Count Zero and a small troupe of variety & burlesque acts. An exquisite night! Just a few lazy snapshots from my seat, I was mostly just enjoying the show:
Now go buy the album!
A few snapshots from the Speakeasy Dollhouse in NYC, taken at the March 2nd, 2013 performance. I forgot how ‘fun’ shooting in almost no light whatsoever could be…
On February 28th, Brendan Burns is once again bringing together a collective of incredibly talented musicians and performers at the Somerville Theatre to bring Beck’s upcoming Song Reader “album” (which is only being released in sheet music form) to life.
Our version of ‘Old Shanghai’ was arranged by Brendan, with:
Vocals – Mary Bichner
Guitar – Brendan Burns
Bass – Tony Leva
Trumpet – (yours truly)
Tenor Sax – Brendan Higgins
Trombone – Randy Pingrey
Baritone Sax – Kathy Olson
I feel like this photo needs a strong title. I’m at a loss, though.
Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra closed out their tour in Boston on Saturday, November 17th 2012. It was a beautiful show, especially the crowdsurfing during Bottomfeeder.
Not a big snow, but the first one we’ve had this year. Just a couple of snapshots wandering around after swing last night.
This is always the worst part of my day.
Sarah, of the most excellent Sarah Rabdau & the Self-Employed Assassins. (Their next show is Sunday, September 30th at Brighton Music Hall)
