TraniWreck at ClubOberon

The incomparable Johnny Blazes invited me to Truth Serum Productions‘s recent TraniWreck: GOLD show at Club Oberon. The show was a ton of fun! As always, there’s a gallery with ~50 photos. A few examples:

Want to see more flesh? You’ll see a little more in the gallery, but if you want to see it all you’ll have to come to the next show – August 13th at Club Oberon! For more information about TraniWreck, check out Truth Serum Productions.

Walter Sickert & the Army of Broken Toys at ArtBeat

If you were at Somerville’s ArtBeat festival over the weekend, not only did you see the art of Walter Sickert adorn ArtBeat but you also had the chance to see him and his band play. This show was unlike any other I’ve seen them put on… mainly because of the extremely young mosh pit and that it was outdoors. In the light. Weird!

… I really have no clue what Walter was doing in this photo:

AFP Ninja Gig at the A.R.T.

I think this is the fastest photo edit & blog post I’ve ever done. Apropos, for Amanda Palmer announced a ninja gig on her blog on the 7th. Occuring today, the 8th, at the A.R.T’s Loeb Theatre.

A small peek at the crowd as we wait:

And then, Amanda Fucking Palmer:

These next two are my favorites:

Friends were seen as well!

Summer Saturnalia

The Boston Circus Guild recently turned Club Oberon into a wild bacchanalia for one night. The number of incredible performers there made my head spin.

It was one of the most challenging shows I’ve shot (right up there with weddings!) but after all was said and done I’m fairly pleased with the results. I made more good photographs than I could ever hope to cram into one blog post, so it would greatly behoove you to wander through the full gallery.

Allow me to share a few though to entice you:

A Different Spin (and with audience participation!):

(if you go into the gallery, you can even see these guys jumping on and smushing their faces into shards of broken glass.)

Providing music throughout the night, the incomparable Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band:

Audience and general scenes of mayhem!

Also in the gallery are some of my very best candid portraits ever. I’ve only included one up there, see if you can find two or three more in the gallery.

I am incredibly grateful to Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band and the Boston Circus Guild for inviting me. The energy that night could only be described as euphoric and everyone there were all amazing performers.

SteamShipKillers CD Release Party

Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys released a new CD, SteamShipKillers (BandCamp link) Friday night. Jaggery, who had just recently released a Double-Single, opened. Two of my favorite Boston-based bands in one place? Bliss.

There’s more in the full gallery, including one with a mostly naked girl. Bet that got your attention, eh?

I keep shooting these guys because they and their live shows are Made of Utter Awesome; they’re on a mini-tour in the northeastern US as I type. Dates are on the front page of their website!
